Free Crochet Rabbit pattern

This has been a long time coming to get a free Amigurumi pattern out there for you guys. This cute little rabbit is easy to make and it can be whipped up in less than a day. perfect for a market if you are looking for something cute, but fast to make.

So let’s get started on this cute Free crochet rabbit pattern!

Abbreviations :

SC: single crochet

DEC: decrease

Ch: Chain

pattern explanation

1: You will need a stitch marker because you will be working in continues rounds.

2: Sequins between ( Brackets) you need to repeat in round given. The number of stitches will appear in […] bracket at the end of the round.

TOOLS:

1: Embroidery needle

2: Sewing needle for the yarn

3: 3.5mm Crochet hook

4: stitch marker

5: scissors

MATERIALS:

1: polyester stuffing

2: embroidery thread

3: Two colors of yarn – I use Double knit “charity” yarn found in South Africa

FREE PATTERN:

LEG 1L

(Start with the skin color…)

1: start with 5 SC in magic ring [5]

2: 2 SC in each stitch around  [10]

3 – 8: SC in each stitch around

Fasten off the yarn.

LEG 2 and BODYL

(Start with the skin color…)

1: start with 5 SC in magic ring [5]

2: 2 SC in each stitch around  [10]

3 – 8: SC in each stitch around

Don’t fasten off the yarn, you will start with the body…

Body + head

9: Chain 2 and join LEG 1. Crochet 10 sc on leg 1 and then crochet 2 sc on one of the sides of the 2-ch-chain. Now crochet 10 sc on leg 2, and finally 2 sc on the other side of the 2-ch-chain. Total stitches: 24

10: (2 sc in the next st, SC in next 3 sts), repeat * [30]

11-17:  SC in each stitch around [30]

{Stuff the legs firmly…}

18: Change to the color of the t-shirt and, only through back loops, SC in each st around [30]

19: (DEC, SC in next 3 sts), repeat * [24]

20-21: SC in each st around [24]

23 – 26:. Crochet 18 SC

27: (DEC, SC in next st) repeat * [12]

28: SC in each stitch around

HEAD:

29: only through back loops, SC 2 stitches in each sts (24)

30: (2 sc in the next st, SC in next 3 sts), repeat * [30]

32 -38: SC in each st around [36]

39: (DEC, SC in next 4 sts), repeat * [30]

fasten off and weave in the end, closing the head on top.

EARS:

1: start with 4 SC in magic ring

2: (2 sc in the next st, SC in next st), repeat * [6]

3: SC in each st [6]

4: (2 sc in each st around) [12]

5-7: SC in each st around [12]

8: (2 sc in the next st, SC in next st), repeat * [18]

9 -15: SC in each st around

16. (DEC, SC in next st) repeat * (12)

17. Flatten the opening with your fingers and crochet together, with sc, both opposing sides.

Cut the yarn and leave a long tail to sew. Curve the ears to give them shape and attach them to the head of your bunny with a few stitches, using the tapestry needle.

ARMS:

(Start with the skin color, switch to shirt color at row 5…)

1: start with 5 SC in magic ring [5]

2: (2 SC in each stitch around) [10]

3 – 17: SC in each stitch around

Fasten off the yarn.

Stuff the arms lightly, cut off the yarn leaving a long tail and sewing the arms to the body.

TAIL:

(Start with the skin color…)

1: start with 6 SC in magic ring [6]

2: 2 SC in each stitch around  [12]

3: SC in each stitch around

Cut off yarn leaving a long tail for sewing, sew the tail to the body, leave a small opening to stuff it, once you added stuffing you can close the hole.
